Tips on Saving money on your car insurance in a recession
So i have been trying to lower my bills all around and one thing i thought i would tackle was my auto insurance. With a decrease in salary and one of our family laid off, i decided to call my Allstate agent and see if i could lower my monthly insurance bill. They had a few options for me one was the value plan which i signed up for and got a huge discount immediately. One of the requirements was to sign up for online auto deductions from my debit credit card. This saves on paper mail and having to write bank paper checks as well. The value plan does eliminate your good driver discount rebate checks as part of the program and it doesnt lower your deductable like the other plans do. So its a trade off for a lower monthly payment. Also if your car is older and paid off with no loan or lien holder you can put just liability on in some states just dont get into an accident. This is ok is you have a clunker and dont want to pay the larger collison policy. This is not a good idea on a newer car and isnt allowed on a car with a bank loan. I also made sure to let them know that i had AAA and an alarm on our new Kia Soul to get a little more of a discount. You can also shop around try calling Geico or Progressive or State-farm insurance and see what a comparable auto policy will cost you its worth the time to call especially if one of the bread winners is out of work and has the time. You can bundle your home owners or renters policy and get a break an all of them if you use one company!

High Gas prices use Gas points at Stop and Shop
With gas prices going up and up with no end in sight. Here are some tips to save fuel and reduce the cost of it.
First i plan my weekly trips to avoid excess driving try to be efficient with your driving plan your driving and try to avoid excess trips. I emptied out both of my vehicles of any excess weight. I also inflated my tires a little bit more than normal. Lately i have been using the coupons at Stop & Shop for gas points and then i scan my stop and shop rewards card at Shell gas stations and can save up on each gallon depending on how much you spend at S&S its important to scan your s&s card before you use your debit to see if you get a discount. also there is a cool website that shows you the cheapest station near you i find Hess to be cheapest near me but they dont take s&s discounts so i usually use Shell if have shopped at the grocery that week. I also recently bought a YAmaha 50cc it Vino Scooter it gets 90mpg. I can't go on the highway but i use ut fir running around the city it can go 45mph see if you can find a used one in good shape and be sure to look up the local regulations in your area for scooters. in my state you don't need a motorcycle license to drive one if its 50cc. Its also a good idea to keep a few cans of gas in your garage in case theres a shortage and you need a top off or for your generator. I would rotate the gas and use it as gas doesn't keep as long as it used to, with all the additives they use today. Thanks for reading and BE PREPARED for any emergency!

Saving Money using Coupons to Prep!
One good way to save money and build up a supply of food and household consumables is to actively coupon. First you need to obtain as many coupons as you can. Some ways to get them are your Sunday papers, Weekly mailers, Your neighbors extra coupons (if they are not using them of course wink wink), Online printable manufacturers coupons, some websites offer coupons that can be printed for instance Couponmom or couponnetwork etc. Some people even ask the local gas stations at the end of the day for the left over coupon inserts from the newspapers which they end up returning or throwing out, ask nicely what do you have to lose? Also you can go to individual manufacturer websites for your favorite products, many have printable coupons. Try to build up a stock of coupons like a data base. Usually it takes several weeks of actively searching and clipping to get a good supply to start saving real money. Local pharmacies such as CVS and Rite Aid offer reward card coupons as well these can come in handy when combining coupons with sale items and Xtra Bucks. That's the key take a little time each week familiarize yourself with whats on sale and pair up coupons with those specific sale items and maximize your savings. Stores like Stop and Shop offer double coupons as well. The key is to buy only the items on sale to slowly build up your stock. I like to search for the 10 for $10 dollar deals or Loss Leaders (Deep sales on certain items to lure you to impulse buy other stuff) and find coupons for those items, look closely you don't have to buy 10 to get that deal at Stop and Shop just buy 2 if that's all you have coupons for! Buy large amounts of items when you can get a great deal especially if the items are really cheap and are of the type your going to always need like TP! Set goals and start small for instance try to save 20% on your next shopping trip, then try for 30% or 50% be persistent. Treat it like a very small part time job and you will see the results. The goal is also to try to get some items for FREE by utilizing deep store sales with coupons and try to Stock up! Stay tuned for more couponing tips and survival prep tips!
